BRSE Associate Receives SC Literacy Leaders Award
BRSE associate Rodney Graves, Director of Secondary Education in Spartanburg District Seven, has been awarded one of only three South Carolina Literacy Leaders Awards for 2009. Graves will be honored at an awards reception in Columbia Sept. 15, 2009.
The Literacy Leaders Award is designed to honor educators for their work in increasing and enhancing South Carolina's literacy. Started in 2005, the University of South Carolina's School of Library and Information Science created the $6 million Children, Libraries and Literacy Initiative to end illiteracy in South Carolina.
