Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence in partnership with Clark County School District and SMART Technologies, Inc., will be hosting a two-day professional sharing and learning institute for preK-12 teachers, specialists, paraeducators and administrators at the Northwest Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas on October 1-2, 2009.

Some of the highlights include:

• How to improve all aspects of your school through the comprehensive Blueprint for Excellence
• How to become a Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School
• Workshop sessions by K-12 teachers and administrators sharing best practices in the areas of technology, ESL, dropout prevention, mathematics, literacy, curriculum, instructional practices, graduation success
• Sharing best practices of THINKING MAPS for elementary and secondary schools
• Site visits to exceptional schools in the Las Vegas area
• Workshops on Bilingual & ESOL Education, Technology Integration, Leadership, and SMART Board Training Workshops
